The power of exercise can never be understated.

I hear strong anecdotal evidence of this all the time.

I was with one lady this morning who has been ill for a couple of weeks, yet today after her first session, she felt so inspired that she has already plannned the rest of the week’s workouts, and she feels fantastic purely because she feels energy coming back in her life for the first time since christmas!

Exercise clearly means a lot to her.

Without seeming like a sexist comment, how many of you have felt like doing the housework after exercising because of the abundance of energy you felt come through your body? I have met a ton of people who felt exactly like this.

How many of you have been a student of some sort, and done markedly better in exams and your studies in general after you discover exercise for the first time. There is more than anecdotal evidence on this, there is scientific evidence on this matter in schools and colleges up and down the country!

How many of you feel low in energy if YOU DO NOT do your workout?!!! I know i do for one!!!

How many of you feel a huge sense of accomplishment if you run up a hill for the first time, especially if you consider most of you probably couldnt even run 30 yards when you first started?!!! These signs and evidence of progress are huge for your self confidence and self esteem, and spur you on to go and achieve even more!!!

How many have you experienced the exercise “high” during your workout? This is very common especially when you are having a great session, and is very much part of why we train. Anything that tends to make us feel better we tend to do more of, this is why workouts should be a normal and regular part of our lives!!!

7th February

If you’re still struggling to be in shape, then don’t worry, you can still get into great shape.

For example, if you have exercised before and have got into decent shape, you should be able to get into shape again far quicker than you did the first time around. It’s called a little thing called “muscle memory”!

So all the pain and patience you took to get into looking good in the first place honestly WILL count this time around. There have been numerous scientific studies that show that its a lot easier to get into shape second time around, or even third or fourth time around in some cases!!! Some of you may even be in the teens when it comes to attempting to being in shape but don’t worry, thats cool with me, after all im here to help.

The only thing that may actually be stopping you the most is your mind. Putting yourself through all of this another time is extremely tough for a lot of people, even if the path you are about to go on is already greased and ready for you!!!

This is when your positivity for the task at hand is really tested out. There must be ten negative people out there for every one positive person out there. If you listen to the crowd, even attempting to get into shape may seem “well above your station”!! Don’t listen to these perennially negative sorts, either ignore them or tell them to shove it, plain and simple!!!

People in the main may not want you to get into shape again because they don’t have the guts and determination to do it themselves. Sure, anyone can go to a few weight watchers meetings and high five each other and feel great, thats par for the course at this time of year. Statistically, all that high fiving is about to collapse again this time of year, so its about time you developed some tougher resolve and a more meaningful plan, or you’re going to keep paying those lovely weight watchers people a lot of money over the next 40 years!!!

Lets go over it again and look in the diet/food section, hows your shopping list looking?

Hows your workouts looking in the training section, theres plenty on there!!! Are you training with drive and enthusiasm or are you going through the motions, how hard you train will dictate your actual results.

Are you sleeping enough, nothing worse for training and results than poor sleep.

Are you still drinking alcohol more than once a week, good results may be a thing of the past for you. Cut it down to once max if you want meaningful results you can be proud of!!!
