Monday, November 28th

Normally throughout my days at the gym, apart from those working shifts, i know who i am going to see at the gym at certain times.

The members who are the most successful you know you’re going to see often, usually around the same time, they train with the same impressive intensity, the weather doesn’t matter and never affects their decision on whether to train or not, how much stress in their life doesn’t usually affect their training (exercise is the best stress reliever anyway), and in general they are as regular as clockwork.

Their consistency dictates their success levels.

They are also great to train because you get to know them inside out, their strengths, their weaknesses and you can go into detail on everything, and they always push you for more which is fantastic.

They are successful BECAUSE they always show up no matter what.

If they had to post their diary, their calendar up here right now, then their workout would be an ever present in their diary, it will be the one constant, it will be the main thing that allows themselves to think clearly, to think strongly, to get rid of stress and their one part of their day when they take back control, and they dictate their pace for that next hour.

Once your workout becomes THIS important to your day, it doesn’t take a genius to see that this type of habit makes you ultra-successful. Your standards are high, never wavering and you’re not going to be someone who “plays around” with their fitness.

Ask yourself are you this consistent? If not, what’s holding you back? Do you need a diary and SCHEDULE it in no matter what?

Your progress is dictated by often you show up, your habits dictate how successful you are going to be, so you have to decide how well you want to do, how important exercise is for you and realise we all have the same amount of time in our week, how we handle our time and what priority exercise becomes is up to us. We can do it if we really want to make it happen.

gymThis is a urgent message to those of you who struggle mentally with the struggles of life. There is more pressure now than ever before.

From what i have seen from you at the gym, it’s criminal that you aren’t leading something big in the world, because you all have great ability, all you have is a deep under confidence that you somehow can’t get big things done.

You have to realise that this causes others not to benefit from your gifts of leadership, getting things done and the ability to do things differently from anyone else.

All of you i’m talking about are deeply intelligent, thoughtful and talented in your chosen field. Some are talented but want to make a big impact in another field, but your self-doubt is holding you back. WHY NOT change to something you really want to do? If you want to do something you will enjoy, then you are likely to do an incredible job on it.

Here’s the news, we all go through self-doubt, can we do it or can’t we moments and chapters in our lives, but my message to you all is not to deny the world your gifts and ability, and the positive impact you can have in other people’s lives.

Don’t hold back one more moment, don’t tell yourself that you will have a day off, a week off, a month off anymore because you know it turn to much more than that.

Become the person who DOES, who makes the phone calls, who makes decisions and become the one who upsets the status quo, upsets the negative people who never believe in us, in order to create moments and new careers, moments of impact that change your own life and other people’s too.

This is a time, no THE time for you to lead and take control of your own destiny and use your true intelligence and physical capacity to drive your life to another level, and never settle for second best anymore!

Wednesday, November 23rd

We always talk about the mind side of what we do in the gym, and how valuable it is to get your mind clear, and strengthen it.

You cannot be successful long term with your health and fitness programme without trying to grow mentally along the way.

Unfortunately, many people say, i can’t exercise until i get my mind right. You may be waiting a very long time, because that moment can take a while to show up and we don’t often recognise it when it does.

Exercise helps strongly to get your mind clear, to get it stronger and finally get that long lost self-confidence back.

Don’t think you are a one off too if you are struggling mentally to adjust to getting fit. Being healthy takes many every day adjustments before it finally gets like second nature. You don’t do it in one session, a week, or a month, its a process of reinforcing every day positive habits until they stick.

Our kids go to school everyday to get fed positive lessons in educational terms and  in life.

When we leave school, lots of those lessons are forgotten, this is why we need to “re-programe” ourselves to perform better, and stick with our ever evolving plans to improve our health and indeed life in general.

Attempting to get fit and healthy in a positive, supportive environment is absolutely vital for your long term success.

Leaving someone on a treadmill, showing the operation of one or two machines, then forgetting about them is a disastrous way to start a gym, and one which ensures the member will never engage with a gym as they are never shown properly, and OFTEN enough for the idea of exercise to stick.

We are not machines or robots, we have to be prepared mentally for the fitness journey ahead, accept we are on a personal growth journey too, and react positively to the many challenges that come when we are trying to get fit and healthy.

This is why support from your gym is vital at all times to get you through the ups and downs that will surely come once the novelty wears off after the first couple of times.

Exercise and eating healthy not only sets you off not only on a physical improvement journey but one of feeling better mentally, and seeing life in a much more positive way.

Tuesday, November 22nd

Everyone says that your state changes when you exercise. First of all, you may be tired and lethargic and a bit one paced, but afterwards you seem to be so energetic, full of energy, feeling better from head to toe and you leave the gym full of great intentions to do something straight away.

Your state of mind is at it’s best. Remember this when you feel like missing a november night of training.

How many pay to go on a fair ride, a roller coaster, sometimes an hour in the big parks, JUST TO CHANGE THEIR STATE of mind!!!

Exercise is the number one state of mind changer, will change any november night to one of fireworks and renewed passion in your life.

What are you waiting for, let’s go into full state changing mode tonight!!! Loved the sessions this morning, plenty of passion there by those we have become to expect massive things from. Change your state, change your optimism levels, change your expectations in life, change your life by exercise and keep building on the very strong foundation you have right now!!

Monday, 21st November

What you get fed in nutritional terms is usually what you look like, feel like and move like.

What you get fed in the mind shapes our current state and future.

If we are written off in school or don’t get the help we need, then we tend to switch off and get put off learning full stop. School and learning becomes the last thing we want to do.

If we see a careers officer and they are negative about our future, then we tend to believe it and accept that bright future we dreamed about as kids, has disappeared because the system doesn’t work for us.

If we start a job, and it doesn’t stimulate our minds, we get caught in a situation when we loathe going to work, and the thoughts of advancement doesn’t even enter our minds and we get stuck in a rut.

If we try to get fit and healthy, then our first attempt is at a gym that never helps us, then we get fed up and never go despite being on a straightjacket of a contract that keeps us paying for 12-18 months. We are unlikely to return after this deeply negative experience.

We try to eat healthy but we are offered many faddy or shake diets that are heavily marketed, that initially take weight off us, but we always end up piling the weight back on and a lot more too. Losing weight becomes associated with misery and we aren’t confident enough to give it endless attempts as we are constantly let down.

All of this shows examples of us listening and being offered negative solutions to what we really want. Not one of these situations give us hope and get us thinking that we are doomed to failure in everything we do.

This is why we need to programme ourselves differently. Seeking out tried and tested ways of getting healthy through people who have track records in getting the job done and listen to your needs, how to get a better job through a more attractive way of learning through people who actually listen, make sure your friends support you and never put you off, if not seek new people to hang out with as they aren’t your friends.

Getting a better “newsfeed” everyday is vital, if we all listened to the news each day, then we would all think it was the end of the world, and there’s no point in doing anything positive with our lives.

Start right now by telling yourself you deserve the best, you deserve to find the best way to do things, you deserve the same opportunities as “other people” get.

It all starts with what we tell ourselves internally every day, which influences we choose to listen to, and this makes us approach every challenge in a completely different way much more likely to succeed.
