It’s a phenomenon from my point of view when i first realised it was happening, but more understandable when you consider the individuals it happens to, and you talk to them about it.

So let’s say you are on an amazing run of progress, doing great things week in week out. Then, you miss a session unavoidably, that soon becomes a week off.

Then you get everything ready for the following week, your kit, your trainers, even make time in your schedule. Then for one reason or another, you don’t make it, but this time it became “easier” to not make it, to get as far as being in your training kit, opening the front door, and turning back. It’s easier to “not make it” than make it.

Some of you have even got in the car, driven to the gym and then thought “i can’t do this today”, so you turn back promising “i will do it tomorrow”.

These strange “funny” moments are more common that you think, and happen to the best of you. It magnifies the opportunities we get in everyday life, the “shall i go for it” moments or the moments we put off because “the time is not quite just right at the moment”.

Although, you may have had great success already, one bit of doubt wherever it comes from, will potentially trip you up unless you look at it rationally, and bust through those doubts by taking action then and there, which will smash the doubt well and truly out of your mind every time.

The reality is these moments are often our greatest opportunities. Many people will turn them down because conditions aren’t quite “perfect”. For many of you, walking through the door or making that phone call will be the greatest decision you will have ever make.

Taking opportunities also becomes a habit. Making that move right now will propel you into fresh opportunities, and you will develop the powerful habit of seizing every opportunity when it comes up, once you give it some practice.

Take each opportunity, take them day by day and you’ll be amazed how far this strategy takes you. “Having a go” no matter what will become a very powerful habit that often brings outstanding results far in excess of what you ever imagined.
