Sunday 4th January 2025

Many of you are back in work tomorrow, some of you have worked all the way through of course, but right now is the time you need to be back in routine with your food, or your body will not function the way you want it this week.

Asking your body to be full of energy, to recover well from your workouts and your working day, whilst putting rubbish and ultra-processed food in disguised as fuel will never work, and the process can be quite painful to go through.

Hopefully you will be back training this week and ready to be back in routine. Exercising is great but you will splutter your way through the whole process until you knuckle down and eat right.

It’s not about a radically restrictive diet, it’s about eat as many fresh foods as possible, it’s about not eating meals that have been created in a laboratory weeks or even months ago, if you pursue this path it means you are asking your body to survive on foods that have almost no nutritional value, no energy for your workouts, and no recovery vitamins/minerals for your body after your workouts.

Also, if you have overdone over christmas, you will have become accustomed to sugary and fatty foods and it’s hard initially not wean yourself off all that sugary and rich taste.

See this week and a chance ot reset your body, strengthen your immune system again and set yourself on a strong and healthy path as we look to have a great January under our belts.

January 1st 2026

Just got a New Years workout in at the gym, did a run this morning with the dog. The thing is I didn’t HAVE to do it, I could have rested, could have convinced myself that I’m up early tomorrow anyway, got a big day, let’s rest up.

The problem with that is if I hadn’t put those workouts in, I would have had LESS energy, less of a sense of wellbeing, less circulation around my body, less sense of purpose and less momentum going into tomorrow, I made the right decision because I feel fantastic now and I know I’m likely to sleep better later because of it.

Never see your workouts as something you “have to do”, they should be seen as your energy boost, your wellbeing boost, your mental health boost, your get and go catalyst and the best way to get stiffness and pain out of your body.

Never has a small time investment given so much back in return, don’t kid yourself, you need to get moving early this year and never stop if you want to feel anywhere near your best.

Happy Christmas and New Year!!

Time to wish you all a great Christmas and happy New year after a hard working and fantastic 2026. This is our last day of the year today and we will close after this evening’s session at 7pm and re-open Friday January 2nd..

I want to thank you for all your great work, thank you for navigating all of our new programmes so well and so diligently, and for making such a positive contribution to the gym’s everyday environment and great atmosphere.

We have a massive range of members, from kids under 10 to Bettina at age 90, which we are very proud of.

We created a lot of change this year, the gym took another huge step forward in the recovery area in terms of rehabilitation and we invested substantially in this area and the results have been very strong indeed.

Everything now is paying off in a big way in terms of results and tried and tested recovery protocols, which has brought great clarity to a field that is not always clear which way you should proceed, but we brought the latest science into it to make sure you have a clear and concise recovery, that not only gets you out of pain but gets you better and stronger than you ever were before.

We intend to build on all the good work this year and make 2026 another year of learning and implementing the latest tried and tested way of improving our bodies and minds.

Have a great Christmas and some rest, and don’t forget we have over 2500 workouts on www.kerimckibbin.co.uk, which you can do anytime, all you need to do is log in, so if you haven’t got your log on details, just message me.

See you in 2026!!!

Keri and family.
