envy or get inspired?

Support and encouragement are invaluable and take us to incredible places, but resentment of others success can be very damaging at the other end of the scale.

Most of us have suffered resentment/envy at some stage of our lives.

We have either been somewhat envious of others’ success and that sometimes has been a great spark for us deciding to work much harder again and attain success well beyond what we thought possible, so it ended up a very positive experience in the end.Or resentment can build up and stops us reaching nowhere near what we are capable of. Resentment can build up and if let bottled up, can lead to ill health over time latest research says.

There becomes two forks in the road with us, either we embrace the fact that we need to work continuously harder and better to get where we want to be learning more and more along the way, or we resent the fact that we aren’t where want to be and let it eat us up every day, secretly causing misery, anxiety and stress no matter what brave face we decide to put on.

It’s easy to see those who are always humble, always want to keep on learning and work hard and they always achieve great things over time, and it’s always easy to see those that are envious, don’t acknowledge others’ success and curse the world continuously for their “bad luck”.Which camp do you want to be in?

Your journey into fitness and where you are right now is very much your new identity you have created for yourself.

Before exercising, you may have hung back in life, been too afraid or nervous to really have a good go at things, not taken opportunities when presented to you, even when knew you were really good enough and talented enough to take advantage of them, and you had great ability to get the job done.

But something held you back again.

I see lots of individuals coming into the gym very nervously, not convinced they could really do well and take this latest opportunity, despite endless evidence that if they just on keep showing up, then over time great things would indeed be possible for them.

Then when they do go onto achieve usually hugely impressive things, that success spills into every area of their lives. No more missed opportunities, no more living life on the sidelines watching life pass them by, this time they are ready to take charge, ultra keen to seize the moment because through the gym and their work here, they have proven they have self-discipline, are capable of committing to a goal and seeing it through and achieving it, never quitting even when the going gets tough, and in that instant they become a great example to their children, grandchildren and their loved ones, shining a light for them too when perhaps they are struggling to find a way in life.

Exercise is not only great for your body and mind, it’s the spark to finding everything good again in life just when you thought your best years were somehow behind you.

Monday 8th August

One of the easiest emotions to share is negativity, things are too tough, too hard, too gloomy, too dark.

And we can all relate to this at times 100 per cent.

Realistically though, there is never a “perfect time” either.Things will never be the “right time”, the right conditions, “I have all the time in the world suddenly”.

There will always be obstacles and tough conditions for you gettting your health right, but get through them you must. Attitude and enthusiasm all comes from being in the right environment and can rub off on you big time.

If you arrive at the gym having a rubbish day, chances are you will leave in a better place, especially in the mind because you have made things change for yourself. There will always be someone next to you to lift you up, someone next to you worse off, someone next to you who overcomes hardships as if they were nothing, and who knows the amazing value of being more active, and the great positive vibes that is guaranteed to bring into all areas of your life. When you arrived at the gym, you did so because you didn’t want to joing “just another gym”.

You joined because you wanted to transform yourself physically and mentally and bring the best of you out and throw the negative stress that everyone has INTO THE BIN!!!The start of the week is the perfect time to remind yourself how great you can be with a positive attitude that is determined to take action every day!!

stress eating

Stress eating, stress drinking, stress drug taking often starts from exactly that-STRESS, and often an overwhelming stress event or events that caused you to find solace in food, alcohol or drugs which initially gave great comfort, but the side effects will often turn into a living hell, that will temporarily always be solved by the eating, drinking or drug taking.

Healing with never start though until you take charge of it. Society often paints people who over eat rubbish, who are in the pub every single day as “heroes” but when you speak to these individuals privately, you get a sene of inner despair and mood swings which only masks unhappiness that the food or drink temporarily hides.

If your body is always inflamed internally (causing often extreme pain) through eating excess processed food, then you are on a one way ticket to long term ill health which nobody would wish on anyone.Nothing wrong with a treat at all, it adds variety and spice to life but when it becomes 80% of your diet, your body will rebel eventually and kick you where it hurts continously.Turning the tide means showing up for workouts when you don’t even want to that day, not putting the rubbish into your shopping trolley in the first place and getting support from people who you trust. It’s hard at first but it means you being honest for the first time in a very long time and what type of future you want. “living for the now” is NOT over eating and over drinking and scrolling the channels, nobody in their right mind would call that “living large” pardon the pun.

Living with no energy and using food as an emotional crutch needs to end, and the greatest comeback of all time is in sight for you and very achievable.Clean up your diet, drinking more water and get down here 3 times a week, that will be far more powerful than any medication could be and I have strong evidence of it happening each and every day.

I am a big supporter of local businesses, but if you are having a take-away regularly in the week (like tonight maybe) and you are trying to train hard and consistently, then you need to take a long hard look at yourself and ask yourself how serious you are about your health?

Don’t take as a personal attack, because you joined our gym to get better, to be healthier and to get yourself in a safe and good place with your wellbeing, someone needs to tell you the truth and I always put my hand up to do it.

You WILL NOT achieve anything eating fast food regularly, by drinking n the week or missing sessions, apart from radically increasing the chances of long term inflammation and pain in your body, leading to decreased mental health on top.

If you hate me telling you all of this, then I can take it, but what I do care about is you getting better every day, feeling better every day and you not getting big worrying health worries down the road when there’s every chance you can do something about big time RIGHT NOW.

That worry is NOT worth it trust me.I am here to tell you the truth, have a think about it, tell yourself it’s never too late and ask your family or those closest to you for support in your weaker and most stressful times.Timne is ticking and all your decisions have a consequence GOOD to BAD.
