“Being in service to others” takes a lot more than you think, and we ALL have responsibilities to others, and many people look to us for help.

BUT the energy we PROJECT to others is vital because that is the impact that really matters.

Study after study shows though we cannot give a good and positive energy if we cannot muster that kind of energy ourselves, it STARTS with us.

If we are living on “food on the go”, takeaways, convenience store ready to eat rubbish, then our energy will likely rise for 30 mins and crash the rest of our day, making us irritable, very moody, snappy and are general unwillingness to get much done with our day.

If we then come home from work saying “I’m going to sit down all night, I’ve done ‘enough’ all day”, then as the stiffness and pain enters our bodies over time, then we don’t feel capable of helping anyone, not even ourselves at times.

What kind of energy will this project to others in your life do you think?

YOU may not notice it, but EVERYONE around you will notice your mood swings and lack of energy that’s for sure, but they won’t tell you that.

The most UNSELFISH, and most GENEROUS thing you can do for yourself and others is start to/continue to eat healthy, continue to exercise and takes the stress, irritability, moodiness, pain out of your body and make you radiate energy, positivity and a sense of well-being and hope to all around you.

I still train people in all weathers, and one relentless question I have is “how do you and the people you train stay motivated and motivate others when it’s raining so much, it’s so cold, and it’s dark on top of all of that?!!!”.

I tell them I stopped worrying about the weather a long time ago, it’s often bleak and awful weather in Wales in this country 9 months a year anyway, and it doesn’t matter what’s going on outside of us, what matters is what’s on the INSIDE and we can create how we feel from there.

What matters is our drive, optimism and enthusiasm, our true deep down reason for exercising and being healthy, the great positive effects on our mental health, our wellbeing and our sense of achievement when we finish, it comes from the INSIDE and we create the way we feel ourselves.

Ignore the noise from the outside, everything you need is INSIDE of you, whether it’s a big storm outside or it’s 80 degrees, be relentless and do the work, you are much stronger than you ever imagined.

I’m all about making sure your medicine is taken early, late morning, or in the evening, whenever you can you NEED your medicine.

My body awakens when I start exercise, and my mind starts to change in a positive way when I feel the blood pumping around my body.

When I do a class that adrenalin can go into overdrive as you may have noticed, but that will never be a bad thing.

There are two ways of looking at this week.

  1. You worry about the supposed weather storms to come later this week, keep a low profile, don’t leave the house and those black clouds will start entering your mind too, turning days of opportunity into days of negativity and low thoughts.

B. Or you grasp the medicine, and do the workouts, flood your brain and mind with endorphins that literally change the way you think AND feel, which is hyper-important.

Everything is on the line every day, of course it’s good to rest at times, but the more you over-rest (a day off becomes a week off, then a month off etc), the more your body gets stiff, the less hope your mind feels in life, that sharpness in mind and body that you celebrated when you are at your fittest declines, you need to WIN your day every day, because if you don’t life will start to get on top of you, even normal things will soon start to become too much.

Storms may come and go, but the sun will come up too, as long as you take your medicine daily and get some fresh air, life will always seem much more hopeful, more fulfilling and positive than most people who don’t ever move much think..

Friday 27th October

The rate at which the weather has changed this week is rated as a ’10” when it comes to putting you off exercising, and pushes you to take the so called “safe option” which is as safe from safety as you could ever get.

The weather this week has not stopped us having some of the greatest sessions we have ever had.

The weather has led to many of you discovering speed techniques you may not have done before, endurance has been staggering as we circled the harbour with a heavy kettlebell and done non stop exercises along the way (this is quite a feat!).

Most of you come 3, 4 or even 5 days and that takes sticking power of the highest order. In return you have developed grit, courage and a realisation that anything is possible as long as you stick two fingers up to the weather and tell it YOU are in charge after all.

This is truly the SAFEST place to be in terms of boosting your immune system as the winter months approach, the SAFEST place when it comes to human interaction which is vital for mental health, the very SAFEST place when it comes to having fresh air and the very SAFEST PLACE when it comes to you feeling ALIVE again.

Safe is never shutting yourself off from others, safe is never not exercising or moving much, safe is never not having fresh air and safe is definitely not having a go in life.

I urge you to continue to take the SAFE option!!!!

None of us want to think of us as the Titanic blissfully unaware we are heading for the iceberg.

But all recent NHS studies show the majority of us are classed as obese, which the NHS says causes at least 12 different diseases that will likely kill us/or incapacitate us, as well as a very low quality of life along the way.

We are all going to die of course but the quality of life we have along the way is mostly up to us.

Based on years of experience, I know if anyone who shows up the gym regularly even with a struggle to move and very poor health, they will eventually move heck of a lot better within a short period of time, and feel MUCH better about themselves.

Last night, there was a programme exposing “READY MEALS” saying that the World Health Organisation has said that 85% of them should not be eaten or marketed to children as they were so unhealthy for them.

As our population gets more unhealthy and unwell, it was no coincidence they said that these meals were increasing market share by record numbers every year because of their convenience.

Most of us grew up eating normal vegetables and natural foods and very little “ultra-processed foods”. But the adding of all the salt, chemicals, sugars etc has made us rely on ever-sweeter and addictive foods that are literally making us dig our graves with our teeth.

Many of us look for “wonder pharmaceutical drugs” to solve short term obesity related problems, but if the patient gives exercising, eating fresher foods and a supportive environment a true go over a few months, then the results can be staggering, life-changing, radically healing and much more powerful than any drugs without the always worrying side-effects.

The pharmaceutical companies won’t make a profit on this way of life though, but you will not only gain your health back, but your self-esteem, self-confidence and give yourself a mental health boost that would have been destroyed by your health deterioration too.

You don’t have to keep heading towards the iceberg, and a decision to take action daily from now on can literally save your life.
