8th April 2024
Problems will come and then they will go, but we should never stop focusing on our purpose, on what’s REALLY important.
“I won’t exercise today because I have too much going on”,
“I can’t get my head into it today”
“I need comfort food today because I’m having a bad day”
“I’m always the victim, it never happens to others”
“I know that food is bad for me but it makes me feel better”
“I’m too old now anyway to get fit”
“Being fit is for other people”
All of these statements are great examples of states of minds that take us FURTHER away from having great health, both in the body and mind. Any of them sound familiar?
Making your workout happen no matter what, crushes this state of mind and self-doubt, and stops you entering a period of permanent decline which is very hard to get out of.
Whatever is important to you, your kids, your family, your business, your job, IF your health is good and your mental health is good, you are MUCH stronger and able to make better decisions on all of things which make you much happier and feel much more in control, or life can overwhelm you and send you into a spiral you never wanted to be in.
Take charge-MOVE MORE, EAT WELL and let yourself get lifted up in a very positive environment.
April 4th
Here are facts from what I see every day. If you have trained for years with a decent level of intensity and consistency, then 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or even 90 years of age are not “body old” anymore, as long as you keep doing the right things.
As you get older, many people have falls, breaking bones, hips, etc and can spend months in hospital, and often never recover 100% or much less than that.
A large part of our training is geared to that never happening to you, or at least cutting the chances down drastically.
We are very aware of what’s coming in life, and we are adequately equipped to win that battle of never slowing down, never getting weaker and never ever getting poor balance.
Here’s what I see every day too, if you eating rubbish every day, then your health WILL decline over time, it’s impossible to dodge that bullet as feeding your body garbage will eventually make your engine splutter and eventually blow up!
If you are willing to show great pride in working out hard, then the other 50% of the equation is going to be eating well and HEALING and fuel your body, instead of trying to destroy it and undoing all the very good work you are doing.
When you are at the gym, you will be treated like an athlete and your weaknesses will be addressed too, as we are only as strong as our weakest link.
Every time you visit our gym, its a reality check, its your time of complete honesty in your day, finding out what you can really do. There’s no dodging the farmers walks backwards up the hill, there’s no dodging the heavy sled and there’s no easy workouts that ultimately will make you fall short compared to our new programmes devised with alarming regularity!
April 3rd
Working hard at the gym can be contagious and can become what you do, and who you are, the great exercisers we have at the gym are ALL hard workers, willing to do their best and if they struggle on a new challenge initially, they know by the 3rd to 4th time they do it, they will start excelling at it, that inner confidence comes from practice, repetition and as knowing our bodies can overcome anything if we keep working at it.
When you workout hard a few times a week, your mood elevation alone will become addictive and it’s a great “side-effect” of exercising hard.
On the opposite side of the fence, try getting a takeaway every night (after all it makes you “fun” according to some people?), try having a drink every night, try sitting on the settee all week without moving too much, even throw in some vaping-and see what happens to your moods, your energy levels and the depth of your lack of desire to do just about anything.
You will get big supporters of both lifestyles as the second one is a great example of “misery loves company”.
Choose to be great today, choose to lead by example and inspire your kids/grandkids, choose to have your best days FIRMLY in front of you.
It’s ALL within your power, do something that makes you better every day, and never listen to the “crowd” who haven’t got the guts to go for it!
2nd April
Nobody needs ENABLER’S in their lives, we all need someone to tell us straight when we go off the rails a bit, and kick our behinds.
Enablers will tell you all day long it’s perfectly fine to eat as much as you like, “just buy clothes that don’t show your shape as much”, I have heard these comments, and they can be deeply damaging for your health, your self esteem and self confidence because its a LONG road back from there once you tell yourself that you somehow be more of a “character and more fun” if you eat and drink more (often to access).Enabler’s are ALL OVER Facebook and they are world champions at blaming their own lack of guts, determination and courage on other things that takes them nowhere near the gym, nowhere near the healthy sectiion of the supermarket, as they would rather label themselves as having their “best days behind them” and surrendering to the challenge of re-gaining great health once again
Enabler’s can be very powerful though too, the enabler’s who boost your confidence, the enablers who tell you to get your behind in gear and tell you to eat healthier again ,the enablers who tell you to walk more, lift more, get more flexibile again, and instead of living a life with very little movement, they urge you to get back to your very best again when you not only looked better but FELT so much better again too.
Which people will you choose to lift you up and do great thiings again?
As its very easy to choose the people who will hand your excuses not to do anything on a plate for you!!!!
