May 1st

Every day is an essential opportunity to refresh your mental health, your wellbeing, your energy-it’s a never ending fight each day between feeling on a high, to recovering and fighting on from a low.

No one day is the same, different challenges come and then they will go, sometimes the coast will be clear, then dark clouds will start to re-appear, it’s our reaction though that is ultra-important.

Rest is good, doing nothing occasionally is essential to de-clutter our minds, but do that too often and it can hinder our ability to fight, to keep our sword sharp to slay the dragons that are certain to come, to slay the energy vampires and other demons that threatens to destroy our days, weeks and even large part of our life.

Eating rubbish is fun until we do it too often and diabetes threatens to overcome our lives with all of it’s life-destroying conditions it arrives with.

Doing nothing is fun until we find we can’t move much without pain, and suddenly we become “old” all of sudden and find it impossible to get out of that rut due to the effort seemingly required, indeed you could call it the pit we find ourselves in.

This is why it’s vital to take each day as it comes and see it not as a challenge, but a fresh opportunity again to do great things and look after ourselves for right now and for the future.

To do the things we know that will give us great mental health, we know that fresh air and getting on a sweat will lift our sprits much higher than simple doing nothing every day.

To complement that, we know we need to avoid all the ultra-processed food that can destroy our internal health as well as the way we feel. Natural foods will give us energy, help us recover from exercise and keep pain and disease from invading our bodies.

Think it’s boring eating well and exercise? Everyone I know loves the way it makes them fee, especially when they leave behind a life of inactivity and a poor diet..

Also, eating rubbish and not moving much is not much fun when disease and pain eventually invades your body because unless you move as the old saying goes, you WILL lose function and it’s no fun going back and forth to the doctors relying on pills just to function.

Moving more and eating right WILL change your life, and a true lifestyle change is always achievable when you take one day at a time, you won’t always be perfect, but as long as you keep doing your best, what appears to be an endless grind will so soon turn into fresh and encouraging set of opportunities in your life as you start to feel better again.

April 29th

Taking action is vital but living in hope in the first place can be a powerful state of mind that can keep us going even when we feel like quitting.

Hoping that things get better for us is a state of mind that keeps us trying even when we have bad days, and lets us know that if we just keep on going, then better days may be coming sooner than we think.

We are here to encourage you to make that next step, the action part, the thing that really makes your hopes and aspirations happen, the thing that really changes your circumstances and the way you view your life.

Hope and action continuously put together make us never give up, makes the things we REALLY want actually happen, and when that materialises we automatically get much more momentum, and we become a lot more powerful than we ever thought,

Tuesday 23rd April

Tuesday is the perfect day to crush the negativity around you and give you the very best coping mechanism to daily with your daily stress.

ACCEPT negativity will come at you every time, but it’s HOW you deal with it all that matters-GREATLY!

Don’t avoid it, don’t say I will deal with that later, don’t be scared of it and most of all don’t pretend its not there, face it HEAD ON!!!

Getting through our day 2 of our new programme can test you to the limit, question whether you still have it, question whether you are “too old”, “not strong enough”, “not agile enough”, “not good enough”, but the reality is EVERY SINGLE PERSON has done incredibly well over the last two days.

You have CRUSHED that doubt head on, face to face and met it with aggression and told yourself it WILL NOT BEAT YOU.

Then day 3 will slowly get better because some familiar moves will come face to face with you again, and you KNOW now you can beat it.

The lesson is believe you can beat negativity wherever it comes from. Some people will try and beat you, try to make you doubt yourself, try to put you off even, but you are strong, you are resourceful and you ARE totally good enough!!!

The power of 10 minutes

Most of you know I have training people for a long time, most of them extremely busy people, so when I got to their house for a session, they could often say I only have 20 minutes today, can we do a good workout in that time? I say OF COURSE!!

Then that 20 minutes often ends up our best workout of the week due to the sheer intensity of it, 20 minutes at high intensity can always be better than an hour of low intensity just waiting for the time to go.

I have also done TEN minutes workouts with time crunched adults and kids who would otherwise not exercise at all.

Not only is a great workout possible, it is a certainty, plus it can be measured effectively too by me and you with real data, and is designed to keep you improving constantly.

Another huge plus is the habit is keeps you in, once you stay in routine of exercising, you tend to eat better too, sleep better, your mental health tends to be way better, and you have that sense of purpose back in your life too.

Habits make you or break you, make it happen!.

Monday, 15th april

I wave at a LOT of people on the road, the kids often ask “who’s that, who’s that”, and I have to explain who it is.

Tonight I answered the question “she called me a twit for giving up my office job donkeys years ago”.

Next question “do you still like her”, I said “yes of course I worked with her and she’s a nice lady, but you have to realise EVERYONE has an opinion, and entitled to their opinion which I always respect, but it doesn’t mean we always have to agree with that opinion”.

I have often made decisions that don’t come off, just like many outlandish decisions I have made have come off big for us as a gym.

But I went to explain that the biggest failure is NOT having a go, NOT trying new things, NOT going with your heart, and DEFINITELY not letting  others’ opinions put us off trying something big that we know has a great chance of working, even when most people think are mad to even try!

In your life, even if everyone knows that exercise is good for you, you WILL have people trying to put you off doing it, and always form people who don’t really want to make the sustained effort doing it..

In your efforts to eat healthy food because everyone knows it will be doing you good, there will be certain people who want you to eat badly, because it’s “what they do” and they want to feel better for making poor choices (but “better” choices in their minds), and despite often against their doctor’s advice to eat well, they try to continue to prove science wrong somehow.

Opinions are something EVERYONE has, but do what’s right for you, whats right for you family,  do what makes you feel better, do what creates energy in your day, do the things you know that will get pain OUT of your body, and treat your wellbeing, both physical and mental with the utmost importance.
