2nd oct-words to live by

SAY THESE WORDS TO YOURSELF DAILY (especially in your down moments)..

“I can do great things, I can show up and prove I can be very fit, strong and healthy, I believe in myself more than ever, and when someone doesn’t believe in me, then I don’t need them in my life”.

“I’m done with negative thoughts, I’m done with self-criticism, there’s plenty of people in the world who will doubt me, but i will not do it to myself ANYMORE”.

“I can’t rely on listening to my feelings about whether I should workout or not, I need to exercise because I NEED to do it. When I’m healthier, I have a lot more energy, my confidence is way up and I tend to always do better in my job and career”.

“I dream of being the top of the mountain, but I now realise that to get there AND BE REALLY CONTENT AND HAPPY, I NEED to get my workouts done, I need to eat healthy and well, I need to get my sleep and I need to surround myself with people who will help get me there, and keep me there, but most of all I need to realise IF IT IS TO BE, THEN IT’S DOWN TO ME and every day is a new opportunity to make a fresh start”!!!!

Words to live by.

1st october

Growth can all be about mindset.

Encourage someone and they will likely do well. Encourage and challenge someone the same time, and you have a great situation.

The goal for us at the gym must always be to encourage, challenge and regularly put our members out of their comfort zone-THIS IS THE PERFECT SITUATION when it comes to self-improvement.

The journey may be hard at times, but you will have a lot to show for it, and be proud of yourself the same time. Nothing good in life ever comes easy, leave everyone behind who takes the easy no discipline route behind, and CHOOSE to do it the hard way, which ultimately is the most overall  progress way every time..

Sept 30th-the 20 mile march

The concept of the 20 mile march has long fascinated me. The 20 mile march principles are shown by all of the great businesses that have stood the test of time in history.

Bad economies, stock market crashes, recessions,  things not going one’s way, bad weather, big setbacks at times in all areas of life are all inevitable parts of most people’s lives.

There’s the example of two people walking across America, one walks 20 miles a day no matter what, the other walks 40 miles first day, then realises they have overdone it, rests up for a couple of days, then overdoes it to catch up again walking 40 miles, then the weather is very warm and has to be rest for a few more days just to recover..

To cut a long story short, the first person who religiously walks 20 miles a day no matter what, never overdoes it, always gets up early and does the work consistently wins in almost half the time the second person took (who frequently overdoes it, then rests for a number of days afterwards).

This is why the most successful people at the gym become that way. They show up regularly and rigorous with their training, never overdo it but always do enough to get a sweat on and improve, and feel well worked after their workouts. Regular positive changes happen to their bodies and health overall due to their consistency of always showing up.

The 20 mile march can easily become the 20 YEAR march if you use these tried and tested principles to do enough every day, and see it as a daily commitment to being healthy, and when you are healthy you have SIGNIFICANTLY more opportunities in life right now and in the future too.

The ultimate investment in yourself.

29th sept 2024-the last quarter

12 weeks to go until Christmas, and your most testing 12 weeks of the year to come on all levels.

50mph and heavy rain on a sunday isn’t the most encouraging start, but let it be the start of your NO COMPLAINING stage of the year.

You can complain about how cold, dark and wet it is, you can complain your clothes don’t fit you, how you don’t have energy, how your best days may be behind you (totally false by the way), BUT you don’t need to fall into that trap of self-defeating self talk, self defeating talk that you are beaten before you start.

Look for SOLUTIONS rather than complaining.

Become the person who takes ACTION every day, are you getting better or are you the best complainer in town?

It all starts with winning each day as it comes, don’t look forward too much too what may or many not happen.

In my experience, I have people I train do amazing things any time of year, and it’s much more gratifying to do great things when the sun isn’t shining, its dark much of the time, and it’s much colder.

Whilst many people stay on the settee for the winter and complain about life and the pain they aren and the worry they have on their minds all the time, be the exception, be the one who continuously puts the work in, be the one who gets up earlier and gets stuff done, be the one who works stress out of their system at the gym each and every day, be the one who NEVER quits-BE THE EXCEPTION!!!

The last quarter of the year is year, time to embrace it and run straight at it!!

Sept 27th

Failure is GOOD, it’s your ever present friend in you getting better, without it, you would settle for a very low standard in life that was easy to jump over all the time, but ultimately give you far less reward and benefits to your health.

Your character is BUILT by your failures.

Accepting you have to do way less as you age is like going to school, learning the 5 times table and then progressively getting worse as you go up each year-NONSENSE and it wouldn’t be allowed in school, by your parents/guardian or anyone around you, unless someone said it was “okay” to do so and have so little ambition.

Are you getting better by challenging yourself? Or getting weaker and less healthy by creating a far LOWER BAR for yourself?
