Numerous studies showed from even 40-50 years ago, it was thought that if you were “creative” and thought a bit outside the box, and had success with that thinking, you were the 1% of the population.

The rest of us back then were told to “stay in our lane”, “fall in line” and “follow the leader” even if that leader that was in charge of you was often making it up as they go along and not very capable themselves..

The reality is ALL of us are creative, and fast forward 40 years and so many more of us are forging our own path, doing our own thing and often sticking two fingers up at the people who didn’t give us a chance of succeeding at anything-in fact those naysayers have often become the fuel to those who of us determined to keep upsetting the status quo, and creating a different reality where only the truth matters every day and creative a healthier, more active and more fulfilling life for others by doing the right things that can literally change lives..

The problem is we need to tap into that creative streak we ALL have, and numerous studies show that when we exercise, chemicals are released into our brains automatically putting us in a completely different mindset, when our most creative thoughts and ideas come to the forefront of our minds.

This is also our most powerful weapon mentally this time of year when it’s raining continuously, it’s dark, cold and generally miserable.

If we reach our creative states more often simply by moving more and  getting a sweat on, then we automatically win the mindset battle that typically goes on November to March, that also coincides with the SAD (seasonal affective disorder) syndrome coming to its yearly prominence and most destructive time for so many.

Much is made of exercise “losing weight”, “looking better” etc, but the most powerful aspect I often see in individuals is awakening mentally again, realising how creative they really are and with that comes self-belief, self-confidence and a sense their best days are really ahead of them, after maybe many years of possibly thinking that getting fit and healthy was something “other people did”.

There’s never been a better time of year to get your mind right.

Sunday club is done, NOTHING gets my mind right for the week like this.

You have two choices this week.

Choose your regular workouts, minimum 3 times, and you WILL WIN the week in all ways, physically, mentally, emotionally-ALL ways! You will feel opportunity exists, and you have much more clear thinking in your life every day, you will not feel better than this, you will be inspired to eat healthier, you will sleep better, and your sense of wellbeing will be amazing.

Choose making excuses and you are inviting negativity into your life, inviting anxiety, low moods, a feeling of hopelessness, pain and stiffness into your body and it will be MUCH easier to take the week after too, and then say “I will start back AFTER Christmas” giving up on the dream of great health for the festive period.

Life is about choices and opportunities-NOBODY can claim you don’t have immense opportunity ahead of you this week-make sure you take it!!!!

Thursday, 14th November

We are all guilty of wanting to be the hero and also playing the victim, the difference is usually down to us and which internal voice we listen to.

We all want to do good things, things we can proud of, and we want to overcome challenges we possibly don’t think we can get through, especially now when it’s dark, cold and wet, all of this makes us feel fantastic if we see it through, and our sense of wellbeing is usually then at an all time high because we know we can tough it out no matter what..

Then we all have an inner voice that makes us want to “play if safe”, “we had better not try”, we like being in our “comfort zone”, at times we even like being “babied” to a degree, we like being looked after and we don’t like being disappointed anymore. It’s easy to listen to the people who say “don’t even try, it’s not worth it”!

The secret is to realise we do have two voices going on all of the time in our heads, and we had be VERY CAREFUL of which voice we listen to.

All the greatest achievements in history were cases of leaders battling through enormous doubt, often ridicule, and so often great difficulty, and people queuing up telling them to stop and “why bother” and “what if it doesn’t work with all that effort, won’t that be a waste of time?”.

Of course they were very tempted to “play it safe” ,and not even risk great disappointment and even ridicule from some (usually the people who never wanted you to succeed anyway and would love it if you quit right now).

When you listen to the right voice, you will show up and keep going, when you listen to the right voice, you will stay strong and eat well 80% of the time, when you listen to the right voice you will always have the courage to go for it every day, to never quit, to see it through and believe in your ability to keep refine your approach and get it right eventually.

We all have the two voices, it’s the human condition,  be kind to yourself and let yourself finally do great things with your life.

The exceptional individual is the one who walks into the gym and has already got over their first hurdle.

Then they build confidence simply by getting through their sessions.

The cumulative effect of these sessions becomes ultra-important.

From right now, until March, lots of people struggle with the dark, the wet and the cold. They struggle without human interaction and social media becomes “real life” somehow.

The gym from now takes on another life of it’s own. For that exceptional person who was too afraid often to walk through the front door of the gym, our gym is like a safety net to get through the tough winter months, not only physically but mentally and emotionally too.

Life is often tough, and this means we got to toughen up too, we have to build our immune system up, we have to rise to the challenge and once we don’t hide away from anything, then our life gets EASIER because we get set up for tough challenges every day and we expect it.

Keep being exceptional, keep showing bravery and keep seeking out tough things daily, training hard regularly makes life a lot easier and much more enjoyable.

The question is “shall I still try my best anymore, what is the point”?

The answer should always be your exercising is something you GET to do, exercising every day is something that keeps you away who you may portray as being “worse off’ than you.

I have always said that people get hooked on TV soap opera’s because it shows a life where many people have worse lives than us, and in turn the human reaction is to feel good about that.

If so and so is worse off than us, we can do the bare minimum and still be better than they are, when the trouble is if we set a bar so low w can just step over it, we create very low standards in our lives.

When we get to the gym, we see many people with higher standards and expectations, and greater recovery stories too we may have thought impossible.

Being exposed to these people make us RAISE OUR OWN expectations greatly, makes us dream bigger and we instantly raise our dqily habits to a whole new level, because we live to a much higher standard.TV and social media often gives us a false and fake view on how life really is, people often portray themselves and their lives as incredible versions of themselves,

In real life though we know there’s going to be many highs and lows, but if we mix with people daily who tend to lift us up by their efforts, instead of hanging out with those who feel sorry for themselves all the time and try to convince us our best days are behind us, we can live a much better, fulfilled life and we soon realise that daily action in real life is the way to go, all we have to do is to continuously turn up and allow ourselves the opportunity to do great things again..
