Thursday, 6th February

If your results have been good in January, then you should see February as a continuation of the lifestyle habits you developed or rediscovered in January.

Lots of people ask what is the “true secret” or the “one thing” of getting into the shape you always wanted, and I have to tell them the same old answer. The “one” thing is EVERYTHING.

You can’t fool your body for long with the latest faddy diet, the latest exercise gimmick, or whatever comes on the market on a relentless basis. If I based my business on any of these, I would have been out of business in a few weeks or months at best, like all of these fads inevitably do.

If you are not eating healthily, if you are not exercising regularly, if you are not sleeping well, if you are not keep alcohol to once a week, then you are not going to get near the results you want, and please don’t let ANYONE tell you different!

February is time to try something new too, now your foundation is better, you can experiment more and hit new exercises. We always like to talk about exercise cost and this means the hardest exercises usually have the biggest energy cost, so try this month and approach your programme in a different way.

Moving on to the next phase of your training is vital, and this is only possible when you are doing everything right in the first place.

We have more people than ever exploring their limits on the physical potential.

This means new exercises, variations on older exercises and a higher training intensity again using all new and different strategies.

Time to make the step up.

Tuesday, 4th February

As we start February, you should be able to build on a strong January.

February usually means leaving a tough month behind, and really concentrating purely on performance, rather than losing what you put on over Christmas.

The improvement in light in the mornings and evenings, will inspire you to get out more and this will add to your fitness and wellbeing. Opportunities to train outside will only increase, and those of us who have been training hard outside all winter, will only be encouraged to seek out fresh challenges to take our performances higher and higher.

Many people start thinking of their holiday, and of the spring, so right now is a great time to put even more effort in to look and feel your best with warmer weather only a couple of months away.

January would have felt like kind of a “rescue your body” month, February should feel like rebuilding is really well and truly underway!

Even better news is that your body should be used to have a lot of nutrients coming in from your better nutritional habits, so it will automatically perform better for you, recover better in between workouts, be healthier inside, your body fat will be lower, your muscle tone be much better, and of course you’re going to look better if you are being consistent with your food and exercise.

All of this should be the perfect platform then to raise your standards to a new level, and deliver the results for your body you know you are capable of.

Tuesday, 28th January

We are nearly at the end of January, and have been doing a succession of measurements already.

The toil of a hard January is starting to bear fruit now, with those who have put the work in surprising themselves to the upside in terms of body fat lost, lean muscle tissue gained and a lower stronger heart rate.

We have had some people improve their blood pressure dramatically, as well as other health-related issues that can be improved a great deal through exercising regularly, and changing one’s eating around to make sure good natural foods comes in on a regular basis.

Most people forget that we are really exercising for health as the primary reason, and not for vanity. If you structure your exercise and eating programme so you think of how your body is improving internally, then your outside visual image will take of itself.

The goal is to be healthy inside and out surely?

This is why just weighing scales are a poor barometer on your overall health. For example, most women I train are very volatile with their weight when its time of the month, some putting up to 5 pounds on during a few days, then losing it once it is over.

Also, we encourage training that is going to improve and support lean muscle tissue (which raises your metabolism and keeps you burning fat 24 hours a day), so this will definitely affect your weight on the scales.

This is why I measure body fat properly, and don’t rely on some gimmicky scales that “claims” to measure weight and body fat at the same time. It simply cannot be done accurately, not a chance!

Getting measured is vital and we are just having all our early January results come through.

Knowing where you are is vital so you can chart your future progress, and you know how much you have to do to get there.

Wednesday, 22nd January

People always ask me always “what do I do AFTER I get fit?”.

However long it takes you to get fit and healthy again, you will find it’s very unlikely you will ever even WANT to go back to your old ways. When individuals become fit and healthy, often from a low base, they become changed people.

You will have developed a higher quality of life, you will have higher ambitions, you won’t have the same old cravings for sugary foods, and you will start having a lot more pleasure about being active.

If you are in a sound programme, then your new lifestyle will have become part of you, so you develop fresh enthusiasm for everything in life. You will become much more optimistic and you suddenly have a brand new body to enjoy too, and you’re going to want to use it as often as possible.

Training properly and smart, eating healthily is like discovering you have done something in your life for years the wrong way, and suddenly everything feels a LOT EASIER in your life.

Why would you ever go back from here and feeling great? This is what many of you tell me.

The best thing to do after you have reached your INITIAL goals is to immediately set NEW ones, this way you are always trying to improve and progress becomes a natural process for you.

Soon this will become your way of life and you won’t have to think about it anymore, it will be second nature.

Monday, 20th January

Many of you when you first start training have so much negative thoughts about yourself internally, it becomes destructive to the point where you never think you can actually get fit and healthy.

Here’s some of the most common things that people usually tell me they think about themselves at the beginning, and their chances of success. Then you need to know the truth!

1. “I’m a failure”
The truth is-you have succeeded at lots of different things in your life, so you can definitely succeed with your health in this programe.

2. “I can never lose weight, I lose it sometimes but always put it back on!”
The truth is-as long as you do what needs to be done, you’re going to reach your goals.

3. “When I get thin I will be finally happy”
The truth-why put off being happy? You can enjoy life now and confidently work towards your goals

3. “My parents are making me fat”
The truth-you should be taking responsibility for your choices and changing yourself

4. “Bingeing on food and drink is the ONLY relief for stress”
The truth-bingeing only brings on longer term stress, and exercise will quickly relieve stress.

5. “I have to be perfect this time with my food”
The truth-nobody Is perfect, and as long as I eat well 80% of the time, I know I am going to be very successful and STILL have my treats.

6. “I want to look like my favourite celebrity”
The truth-my goals now are to be the healthiest I can be and I can be the best version of me.

7. “I can’t have fun anymore if I always have to watch what I eat.”
The truth-rubbish! The fitter I become, the more I can do in everything in my life and this leads to much more fun all round.

8. “I have missed a couple of workouts, I may as well quit!”
The truth-quitting wont get me anywhere! I will re-arrange my schedule to make exercise a priority.

9 “I hate my thighs”
The truth-everyone’s legs are different in some way and im going to make the most out of my shape

Changing your thinking is critical to your short and long term success, or endless doubts will always threaten your progress.

Use common sense and you’re much more likely to get it done this time!
