Monday 27th April-overcome ridicule

At 18 I was told any role in the fitness instructor wasn’t a “real job” and it had no future, being ridiculed publicly was normalised even when you just mentioned you were studying it, so it was best not to mention it.

At 26, I was told personal training was a “flash in the pan” and to find a “real career”, in fact many people presented me with a whole host of jobs I “should be doing”, anything but fitness.

At 30, many people said behind my back and to my face that I would be a “cripple by the age of 35 (not my word it came from other people”), as I would often train and run and bike with  several people per day and it was “too much”.

At 35 when it didn’t happen, I was asked what would I do in my 40’s after all “how could I keep this pace up?!!). When I replied the top trainers in the world were all in the 40’s and 50’s (and now in their 60’s and 70’s) due to their experience, it was met with a blank stare.

When my father got ill with dementia and we need to radically upgrade the gym in 2008 as the banks were going bust around the world and we fell into the great recession, I knew that training people properly and serving one person at a time was going to work and pay off over time.

In 2016-2020, nobody believed we would create a gym where the inspiration came from professional sport, adding things slowly and then radically with a 8000 square feet outdoor area that was built for sport training and custom made for individuals and teams.

When the pandemic came, we openly got told we would never open again anytime soon as many gyms closed and never reopened, and our business was “finished” despite immune system’s everywhere needing to be built up urgently  again. Our expansion meant we were ready to open earlier than most and come back stronger than ever, and we were able to get so many’s people’ bodies stronger, as well as their minds despite all the threats of the world coming to an end.

I urge you to not “fit in with the crowd”, don’t take everyone’s opinion as gospel, they often have their own insecurities and often they don’t have the courage  or fire you have inside of you,  and use it as “fuel to prove everyone wrong”, to create your own future, your own reality and most of all be yourself and see it through no matter what.

Monday 27th April 2026

If any new programme is designed to shock the system, then it’s the one launched TODAY!!!

A whole arsenal of weapons was thrown at you today and you ALL came up trumps, despite the hardships, the difficulties, the extreme challenges, we got it DONE!!

There is a big reason though WHY we do it like this and we are able to put so many challenges in. It’s because last month was so hard, but all of you again adapted and adjusted to it and OVERCAME it!

It’s only day one but I can feel this programme is going to elevate everyone in a huge way!!

Tues 21st April 2026

It’s very easy to get put off by the process of doing hard things.

If you think about how many workouts you have to do to get better, then that can be off putting. If you think how hard initially it is to reduce a lot of sugar in your diet and to do it consistently, then it doesn’t seem like too much fun.

BUT if you keep focusing on the results you get from the process, then you will keep seeing success, and the initial discomfort will be hugely worth it.

And as you get more and more workouts in, the process of exercising gets a lot easier and your body will start to respond stronger and stronger. Once you get through a few days of cutting down your sugar, you will never go back to eating high sugar foods, you will find it sickly and cherish more natural food.

Lifestyle change means exactly that, you are CHANGING how you live, with change comes enormous results with your body too, what you put into your body matters big time, how much and how well you move matters massively too, the positive results will often be staggering.

Once the results come, mentally you will be stronger too, knowing that the initial sacrifice pays off and over time becomes much easier to maintain too, and it’s easier to stay with it and reap the benefits, rather than  the keep quitting/start again trap that wastes so much time and messes you up emotionally as you constantly go from big highs to big lows.

Monday 20th April

Meeting people for coffee can be AMAZING.

Taking medicine for ailments is often vital.

But having a great workout amongst friends and positive people elevates your whole mood, boosts your immune system, improves your balance, gets you stronger, gets you out of pain, raises your expectations in life, and is the number one way to feel better-no side effects, no drawbacks and is sustainable for life, meaning a high quality of life giving you plenty of options every single day/.

Well done on all the many great people who enriched our gym today with their presence.

Showing up is the secret, let us push you always to do better and feel better, and thank you for continuing to invest in yourself in all was, physically and mentally.

Monday 20th April

Doing our very best feels much better emotionally than giving in and saying “our best days are behind us”.

Doing our best means at times we will struggle, doubt will enter our minds regularly and it will feel messy very often.

We will be tired, fatigued, stiff at times, wiped out even at times, but this is all the process of getting BETTER.

We will look back on all of these feelings sometimes with laughter, much funnier now than what they were like going through in the first place, but we know that anything worth achieving is going to be hard, it’s going to be demanding and will test us to the limit, but most of all will be WORTH IT!!!

Compare that to wanting an “easy life” of not putting any effort in, idling days away, and living on so called “past glories” that may not have been so great in the first place and certainly aren’t strong enough to make you feel good now.

When you look back in life, you are giving up on the now and the future, and the decline can quick and devastating. Life is not exciting anymore, no more challenges exist and you have “given in to please others” because they haven’t got the guts to have a go in life anymore either.

Our best days are indeed here now and fresh pages of a great future are here to be written in the now and will be written by your actions every day, your optimism every day, your courage you are willing to show every day and it requires independence of thought, not listening to the people who pull you down and put you off, and surrounding yourself with people who encourage you, put hope in your life every day and elevate your life through daily support even when you keep doubting yourself.
