Wed 1st October

Most people who get older who are fit and heathy have been doing it a long time, and are very aware of the saying “use it or lose it”..

They didn’t just put a few things right, and then go back to their old unhealthy lifestyle and hope for the best.

They kept on top of things, they kept moving practically every day, they didn’t stay in a chair longer than they had to, they did plenty of strength training, they often took the stairs instead of the lift, they found ways to be more active, because as we all age and if we don’t keep moving, our bodies get stiffer, they become less durable, injuries aches and pains become more of a part of life.

When our joints lose their ability to move in a full range of motion, our body becomes less efficient at everything else, and starts making compensations. Things you used to take for granted now you may have to think twice about.

This is how many people as they age eventually lose independence, because their body begins to let them down, slowly first of all, then rapidly. Losing balance leading to falls, losing strength leading to weaker bones and general function as well as poor lung capacity will be devastating for anyone.

The answer is to keep your movement standards up, training regular may sometimes demand a lot of you you think, but exercise should be designed to stretch you and get you stronger, keep your high standards very high, keep your mobility very good, stop pain invading your body and not let you slip into any kind of movement decline, which can have dire consequences for many, in both body terms and of course in the mind.

It is a biological fact that most of us will slow down as we age, but our daily habits will either slow that down dramatically and help us thrive into old age or radically speed the ageing process up by sitting around too much, giving up on ourselves and eating and drinking poorly, instead of having a go at what we are really still capable of in life.

Tuesday 30th Sept

If we don’t have a battle to fight every day, then we get frustrated because we haven’t had enough stress in our day.

Too much stress is not good, but we DO need some stress to challenge us, enough stress to make us better, and to keep us wanting to improve.

Stress, doubt, frustration, impatience, anxiety are all human emotions and if we leave them build up, then they can feel overwhelming and top us doing many things in our days that we NEED to do.

Workouts are commonly thought of as something to make us look better, but the reality is 100% of the time the workout makes us FEEL better too, and a big part of this is keeping stress and other negative emotions in check.

Your daily battles are essential, don’t shy away from them because they are essential and we need to deal with them head on. From those battles we do get better, we do feel better, and we only grow with confidence every day from winning them.

Monday 26th sept

New programme week means new movements, new challenges, new moments whether you can even get through it.

This is just part of the process, and you must trust it and get through it no matter what.

You can be sure that after the October is over, you will be much stronger, more resilient to the movement challenges, you will become more flexible, better balanced and feel better in every area of your life full stop.

If you are’t challenging yourself, then you aren’t improving.

We all have weakness that we sometimes avoid because it is uncomfortable to face head on.

These workouts are full of such movements, they will expose our preferred one sidedness preference, they will expose our lack of balance in some situations and they will correct any inconsistencies we have on one side because none of us have perfect balance.

Going to be a great month, and the one way you can guarantee that is to keep on showing up no matter what.

Thurs 25th sept 2025

Training matters immensely, but put a strong mindset on top of that and that’s where great things happens.

Training lets you do what you think is possible on a particular day, a good mindset lets you go on a higher purpose.

Failing one challenge can have a bad effect on us, we can tell ourselves if we fail one thing, then there’s no point in even trying it in the future, and this can transfer to all areas of our lives.

This is why it’s super important to keep trying and having another go, because if we overcome failure on something we previously couldn’t do, we will find out it wasn’t us or just our bodies that stopped us in the first place, it was our minds.

Completing that task not only makes us feel good, but encourages us try more and more things with much more confidence.

Failing is a confidence destroyer, keeping trying and eventually accomplishing what we set out to do is a confidence booster and that’s why never giving up no matter what must always be the plan.

We all rely on confidence because without it, we don’t often have a go at much in life. To get it we must continually overcome, and do do this we must continually show up and never ever throw the towel in.

Wed 17th Sept 2025

Imagine how lucky you are to have the great option of exercising today.

It’s a fact of life that every day there’s people don’t feel well enough to exercise sometimes, there’s people admitted to hospital even, and there’s plenty of people who at the moment who can’t get their mind in the right place to get their trainers on and do themselves some good.

If you appreciate your opportunity, and your ability you have in this current moment, then you will seize it. Not only to enhance your own mental and physical heath, but to steer away from the prospect of ill health which can be devastating for every single area of your health.

When you are ill, you are deprived of opportunities.

You spend your time healing and getting well is your number one priority.

Not every case, but in the main people get ill through eating too much of the wrong foods, drink too much of the wrong stuff for their bodies, and stay on the settee instead of getting out there and moving more in terms of exercising and having plenty of fresh air.

Every day you should appreciate how strong you are and how strong you can be if you work a little bit harder and more often.

Every day you should see that your mental health can be boosted incredibly by moving more and more constantly.

Every day you exercise and eat right, then the likelihood of you getting ill, immobile and in pain goes dramatically DOWN.

You are in charge, don’t take your health for granted, especially when you have the great opportunity right now to have GREAT HEALTH..
