I had a late morning dental appointment today, as a follow up to emergency treatment two weeks ago. I like the people in the dentist but I am often nervous about going, and don’t really want to go, but I KNOW I HAVE TO!!!

Two weeks ago, I tried sensodyne tooth paste but didn’t work, I tried special mouthwash but didn’t work, so there came the time when I had to get it done PROPERLY. And I am VERY GLAD I got it done today, because if you leave problems start and build up with your teeth, then real problems will only keep developing!

As a gym, our aim is to guarantee that process for you, do it right

When we do our programmes, it’s a question of balancing everything out.

Have we got enough mobility in there? Have we got enough strength work? What about endurance? And we have better not forget all the new balance work that will test you in new ways!

Doing things the right way guarantees high levels of fitness for you, high levels of functionality in life, and a feeling that your body has never been better.

Throw in all the extra stuff we are now doing with recovery, and it all adds up to peace of mind that you are performing to your best levels, and after all that effort, you are RECOVERING in the best way possible too.

Focusing on your strengths and what matters most are two powerful monday motivation tools.

You ARE capable of showing up for your workouts, you can do a short workout if needed, you will get coached through your workout and you will be encouraged to get through it. 

ANY kind of workout is good and you know how important Monday is to get going, and create the kind of momentum you NEED for the rest of your week’s challenges to come.

What matters most-You started at the gym because you value your health, and you came to us to make it happen no matter what. When you doubt yourself, remember this at all times.

Remember where you were when you started, remember how far you have come so far, remember what you have achieved, continue to achieve and how great exercise makes you feel, and remember how your good health inspires your whole family and those closest to you every day.

I encourage you to always have the mindset of an underdog. The underdog is always written off, the one people don’t think will amount to much, but I have news for you.

ALL champions TRAIN with the underdog mentality, there is no test in the world when you can split the heart of a champion up and see what’s really there because it’s all in their mind and it’s all in their heart, at the same time, you need heart to show up to the gym all the time, you need a great mindset to come in and try new challenges all the time and not settle for the same thing that “everyone does”..

Underdogs will train with a ferocity that someone who is complacent will never have. Complacency never got anyone anywhere I’ve ever seen.

The ferocity over time will always bring outstanding results, and will leave those who have a more complacent attitude far behind in how far they will travel over time.

Embrace the underdog mentality, I personally love being in this state of mind constantly and always looking to prove everyone wrong, adopt it and see your results multiply several times.

We all pretend we don’t have them but when we think about it in our lives, the reality is we all have adversaries. 

We have plenty people in our circle who wish us the best, but there will always be a couple or a few people who don’t want the best for us, they may even work against us and it’s often done silently.

They will often want us to fail, to not succeed, to not be very fit and healthy, to not be getting faster, so well balanced or they may even wish we quit the gym altogether (I can assure you this has happened to many people with us).

Next time you are trying to think of a way you can put off your gym visits, imagine your adversary quietly laughing and pleased about it, because you will be moving further away from success, they will LOVE that.

Next time you are thinking of quitting healthy food and getting a load of junk in the house, imagine your adversary lapping that up, being thrilled you have given up on your health.

Next time you are thinking about “settling for mediocrity in life”, not doing your best anymore, not taking care of your life, can’t you just see your adversary thinking they have WON and they have finally “moved ahead of you in life”.

Adversaries are not always bad, they can be GOOD because they make us re-focus, make us work much harder and make us keep our standards very high indeed..

Monday 13th Oct

High expectations are good but can overwhelm us too when things don’t go to plan.

The facts are when things don’t always go right, then we don’t need to panic, all we need to do is block out the noise, give 100% and accept what we can’t control, and do our best with what we CAN control.

I don’t know one person who’s life goes perfect all the time, if they do then they are liars. 

If things go wrong, accept you have to knuckle down the next day, do all the things that make you feel better, the things you know that are tried and tested to give you good health, in the brief and knowledge that tomorrow will be better if you stay consistent, stay positive about the process and put any negativity behind you and move swiftly on accepting you aren’t perfect or nobody else’s either.

Our processes are vital and good habits over time will overcome anything, knowing we are slowly but surely getting better in everything we do.
