Wed 3rd Dec

You will have noticed over the last few months, that we have increased our range of services tremendously, and are still adding all the time. This has meant a completely professional approach to performance AND recovery and everyone in that system has gone from strength to strength.

To achieve this high standard and to drive our gym on, it’s important to have the “right people on the bus”. To drive that bus relentlessly onwards, we have had to have the right people with lots of positive energy, eager to learn and be eager to benefit from our state of the art coaching and non stop encouragement.

We consider us a big team, and the people on the team are ultra-important, they make us or break us.

Today, I put back our famous 3 lemons up. I was asked what they mean? The idea is often employed by top coaches and top business environments around the world.

You have 3 bright lemons to start with, the idea is the lemons will absorb negative energy that from time to time may come into the gym from people who may not be onboard fully with our mission.

Then when the lemons go black, we bury them around the perimeter of the gym land so the negative energy is buried forever.

We remain on a big mission and nothing will get in it’s way. I know I have to lead that mission with everything I have, and we have to keep the right people on the bus, because negative energy will only drag us down and slow our mission down. Life is way too short to have the wrong energy when you are determined to deliver top class results on a daily basis.

No “energy vampires” are ever welcome on our bus, and we will continue to drive our mission hard, and with the right people onboard, thank you to so many of you doing great things on a daily basis with us.

Dec 1st

You are the one ultimately that chooses what kind of day you are going to have.

Your attitude, your choices, the environment you expose yourself too, all of them are crucial to your day.

If you keep making bad choices, keep showing up in life with a bad attitude, and you stay in a bad environment that you are struggling to thrive in, then things will never get better for you,

Making a “lifestyle change” may sound like a cliche, but you DO have to make it at some stage, or you are holding off change until “someday” that never really come.

December 1st is here, more treats may come in as the month advances, but the foundation of what you eat ought still to be good, you still need to be exercising not only for your body but keeping your mind right too, especially in the dark, cold wet nights which seem to get people down more than any other time of the year.

A lifestyle change means to me that what you “normally do” is healthy, it means you out your wellbeing high on your priorities and means you are consistent with healthy habits throughout the year.

Monday 24th Nov

I had a relentless weekend of football ,and relentless weekend of running around, A late finish last night in horrendous weather and a very  early and busy morning at the gym which we launched our brand new programme which already is making a massive impression.

I start early this afternoon with personal training and we are looking at a great evening at the gym.

THROUGHOUT our attitude in such situations makes all the difference.

For me, being positive about every situation is a choice, and we are determined to make the MOST out of any situation.

I am very GRATEFUL for everyone coming to the gym looking for great sessions and realise we are responsible for delivering better futures for everyone who trains with us, no one size fits all approach to training,  no going through the motions, it has be the latest science of training along with great experience all of the time or nothing.

When we choose to be positive we are not doing it because life is easy, it’s because we know life is hard and we are taking on  that challenge head on not only to make the best of it, but to overcome any problems that come along and set everyone on a better course even if we often have to take the hard road initially to make everyone’s life easier, more enjoyable and pain free in the future.

Ask yourself the right questions, appreciate everything you have and ask today “what can I do to be better in any small way”.

Monday 17th Nov

Whatever is going on with your life today, you have a duty to throw your energy into things that will help you, the things you can control, the things that will do you good, and don’t worry about the things you can’t control.

If you just focus on this, then good things will happen and the things you spent so much time worrying about will go away.

Once you pour your efforts into the things that do you good, you mentally become a lot better, a lot more resilient and far more ready for the tough stuff that sometimes comes at us in life.

Your state of mind is everything, and doing tough things always makes life easier.

Tues 11th Nov

I remember a girl I trained around 25 years ago, she lost a LOT of weight! She had come out of a break up and was in a low place. When I asked her what the best thing was about losing weight, she said “my ex weighed a lot on me and now I am rid of that weight finally, and I can finally forgive him because he is finally out of my mind now and most importantly I have MOVED ON!”.

Too often we carry the weight of the wrongs someone has done to us. We hold on to the bitterness, hurt, anger, pain, and shame that weigh us down, hold us back and make life feel harder.

Over time this horrible energy becomes toxic and poisons our spirit and leads to discouragement and despair.

This is a great quote “Holding on to resentment and anger is like grasping hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who is getting burned.”

Life is filled with many past and future moments where people will say and do things that offend you, doubt you, hurt you and cause you to hold on to the hot coal with a desire to throw it at them.

When I started a business, some people wished me well but I heard a lot of resentment behind my back (and sometimes to my face). My best tactic was to INGORE anything that was going on locally and concentrate what I need to do to serve people well, and I STILL use that tactic focusing on what we can control instead of worrying about anything bad that may or may not happen or even what so and so said!.

BUT if we hold onto that resentment or negative talk off people who don’t really know better, it can eat us up and make us negative ourselves and act in a matter we don’t usually do.

Some negative talk we can use and fire us up to prove people wrong, but don’t let the negativity eat you up, don’t let it bring you down and don’t let it define you, because you are BETTER than that.

Going forward when someone does wrong you, don’t hold on to the hot coal and don’t throw it at that person. Keep working hard to be the best you can be, your training and new found focus will help you forgive fast knowing it will help you move forward sooner and elevate your life in a much more productive way.
