I really and strongly believe if you feel you have lost your youthful exuberance for life, then you have given in and let life pass you by, but it’s nowhere too later to turn the ride.All that hope you had as a kid, needn’t have gone away and you shouldn’t be hoping for retirement as some kind of “escape” from life.

For the record, so many have turned “retirement” into a brand new START and are thriving in it BECAUSE you are so active.Kay Owen for example at 81, said the other day she had almost lost her “militant” ways, and was glad she re-discovered them by always trying to do what she though was right for the community by showing what she could still do in exercise and positivity terms and how things should change!!

Anytime, making that EVERY time, someone tells me not to go for it, or try a new project with a high possibility of failing (in their eyes not mine), I re-gather the information and go EVEN HARDER at it, and I encourage you to do the same.

Anytime anyone tells you to “calm down” and accept a life of mediocrity and “fitting in” for the sake of not making a fuss, even if your intentions are honourable and helping others, I urge you to keep going and never stop.

THEY are the ones you must realise who have FORGOTTEN how to live and go for it themselves, they have become a “prisoner” to their lack of ambition, “fitting in with the crowd” just to please others, and ultimately losing their independence and sense of worth and belief in themselves.

Get the fire back in your belly, get out for a walk, get an exercise plan going that will constantly improve you, get some good food down you, so you can get ready and get the energy to cause a “ruckus” in life again.I urge you today to re-discover your passions, your enthusiasm and yes think like a kid again with big ambitions, and back to a time when you thought NOTHING was impossible, you will feel a lot more liberated and feel heck of a lot better for it and finally most importantly feel like YOURSELF again!!!

Most people don’t get the elation you EARN when you run up a hill for the first time, when you get through our live workouts in the morning for the first time and did much better than the time before, people don’t get it when you have sacrificed all the rubbish food and drink and suddenly you notice after a few weeks/months/years you have made massive changes to yourself.Another huge change you will notice is your mindset change. I have seen many people who would have given up at the drop of a hat before, but suddenly come back with great resolve and resilience and become one of our champions at the gym.

The “magic” is, the true “secret” is……………there is no magic or secret, its all about showing up and doing the work, that’s a fact, and don’t be scared to do so.I know that not EVERY workout I do online, at the gym, in a class or whatever is going to please every single person, nothing is perfect but I do know I am busting a gut to try and do that to the very best of my ability and put everything on the line at that exact moment.I do know though that I will please those receptive and open to doing great workouts, because they can see I am giving everything no matter what, and they are keen to learn and take on new challenges that can transform their bodies, minds and then their lives. I encourage you to be the same, don’t worry about keeping everyone in the world happy because that’s impossible. Not everyone will agree with your point of view and the hardest thing in the world is to change peoples minds.I encourage you to get out there every day and give it a go, in fact your BEST SHOT and don’t a damn what anyone says as your intentions are honourable and there WILL be many people very receptive of your efforts and mission.It all starts with taking action, doing your best, and showing up the very next day and doing it all over again, this time maybe even a little better.

You know what its like now to feel elation and adrenalin from exercise that has a direct and very powerful effect on your immune system, your mind and an amazing effect to give you the get up and go to go after every dream you’ve always secretly wanted but maybe you thought was a bit beyond you.Be brave and go and cause a ruckus!!

It’s been almost a year since the first lockdown. Can I sincerely thank every one of you who have supported us so incredibly well in that time. I can’t think of many businesses who have had the support we have from such incredible and loyal members.You didn’t have to support us as lots of you are having a hard time too, but each and every day, as a family we give enormous thanks to all of you.You have bought into our live workout online service in a massive way, making it a very strong part of what we do now, and every single workout we throw absolutely everything into.We have had a stop/start situation with opening the gym, which has been frustrating, and hopefully we are almost through the very last lockdown with a bit of luck.During that time closed (inside the gym has been 33 weeks out of 46 weeks), we have stayed nimble and managed to use all of our energy into our very productive system of shooting almost 1000 high quality videos now, that have served so many people already including our yoga which continues to do well.We live in great gratitude and when we are open again at the gym, we look forward to giving you a fantastic welcome as always. Our online system will power on every day like it is now, as so many of you exclusively use that now anyway as your lifestyle works best with our online training.In long moments of unprecedented uncertainty and worry, you have proved yourselves as a one of a kind gym community with very special characters and leaders amongst you all. In lockdown, it’s important not to miss the point of keeping active, and what that exactly brings into your life.

Loads of you are getting through our workouts, all of them are at a very high standard, and you are dragging yourselves to new levels of strength and endurance. There is an instant feel good positive hit from that every single time that’s INVALUABLE right now.

Of course it would be great if the gym was open, and hopefully it won’t be long but over the last 8 weeks, you have been put under conditions that have been testing again, and rising to the challenge and not hiding from it has been vital.

I’m not shouting directly at you, this time it’s through a screen but the point I’m making is just as strong. It’s truly up to you whether you train or not, but the reality is that you use circumstances FOR YOU or to work against you. Personal responsibility gets you where you need to be in life, and we all need to take ownership of the decisions we make.

Remember when you sign up for our workouts like most of you have, you signed up to work at your limits and EXPAND your limits. You have made a choice to get better and feel better, you haven’t blamed any limitations you could have thought of, and how life was unfair. Most of you have excelled in lockdown, making a bad situation into one of OPPORTUNITY.

However lockdown affects you, and not much of it is good, use the solitude of the time you get to do our workouts as YOUR time, because unless you prioritise your recovery of energy/getting rid of stress time, you won’t be as strong for all those closest to you either, and many of them will be directly relying on you to show leadership and strength.  

Monday, 15th February

The best thing about a brand new week is you have another chance, nobody can take it away from you. This could be a celebratory week, the week you made a comeback, the week you saw hope and optimism above too much busyness in your life that was getting you down, because you can’t get anything done.If you think you have not enough time, then you need to make a personal intervention on yourself. You cannot go on like this, you need help, you need to re-structure, and you need to plan your days to a schedule that suits you, and do the work that REALLY matters, concentrate on shipping the GOOD stuff, and not loads of mediocrity that can wait.If your days are taken up with a load of stuff and there’s no room for anything positive like a walk, or a workout or making food from scratch, then you need to question what it’s really about?A healthier balance will make you MORE productive in the future too. Clearing your head through your workout should be essential, fresh air seen as a tonic for your mind, and a day off the news and your most negative influences to be around as mandatory.Clearing your Mondays for essential work can only be liberating, no more apologising for trying to please people who drain you of energy and positivity, and nailing it every day no matter what.Today is the day where your exercise is KING, good food is QUEEN, and the day the energy vampires in your life end up in the TRASH CAN for life.
