Pills or doing it the right way?

Many people will choose a pill over eating right and exercising to lose weight.

Here’s a stark comparison about the two approaches.

Talking pills to lose weight will eventually wreck your insides and put a lot of pressure on your heart.

Exercising and eating right will strengthen your heart, boost your lung capacity, give you a much harder body in terms of muscle tone, and boost your mental health immeasurably.

You get a sense of pride when you constantly get fitter and stronger through exercise, boost your self-esteem and self-confidence, a natural high that you create when you move your body more, that becomes addictive in a good way-everyone wants to feel better full stop.

Being addicted to taking pills to lose weight doesn’t give you any highs, if it does it’s very short term, and is often followed by long term lows, when you may need another pill just to feel good, and the cycle continues.

Getting fresh air every day, making constant improvements in your exercise programme that will come naturally if you stay consistent with it, filling your body will energy giving foods that will eventually transform it incredibly, is a mind-altering strategy as well as the obvious physical transformation it will definitely deliver.

You are what you eat, you become what your daily habits are, and make sure you surround yourself with people who believe in you, having someone in your corner ties all this thing together to keep you on the right path.

Whoever offers you pills promising to lose weight to make you feel better is not your friend, is potentially offering a very damaging product for your body and mind, and is likely to create a lot of heartache in your life as wel as take your hard-earned money.

Don’t fall for any fads, there are no shortcuts, no gimmicks, JUST eat well, train right and put in the work all in a positive environment, .

day 42-feb 15th 2022

I’ve never claimed to be any kind of expert on any kind of illness, but this may be VERY relevant for you right now. Over the last couple of years, most if not all of you have likely had covid amongst a host of other things. You may have felt wiped out, still do, struggle to get through your day etc.

HERE’S WHAT I DO KNOW IN MY EXPERIENCE!!!

From training an incredible amount of individuals over a lot of years, with the most desperate of conditions to the mildest of illnesses, and how they react to training and eating right.

  1. You will never make ANY illness better by staying in a chair all day, even a 5 minute workout will count as the start of your recovery-trust me I have done it MANY TIMES WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE.
  2. You will never make any illness or shortage of energy better with takeaways, nutrient empty foods, and a lack of fresh food, drinking alcohol a few times a week, it simply will not happen for you.
  3. Your body will continue to go downhill if you don’t launch some kind of recovery, even if its only 5% of what you used to be capable, the repetition of training, and eating nutrient dense, fresh food when possible food, and good sleep will reawaken your immune system, and then your strength, endurance and ultimately your well-being.
  4. I’ve never seen ONE PERSON not benefit from light exercise to start with, never seen one person not be transformed by taking the rubbish fast food out of their lives, not be transformed by being consistent with healthy habits, NEVER EVER HAPPENED!!!

HOWEVER YOU FEEL RIGHT NOW, there’s a way back, and that comeback will never be feeling sorry for yourself on the settee attaching yourself to others maybe on social media or pretend friends who write off exercise, eating right, getting fresh air, they will only ENABLE YOUR MISERY. Ditch the negativity, and embrace what you know works again!!!

We are doing incredible things at the gym right now, use your opportunity.

Thursday, February 15th 2022-day 42 of the 12 week transformation challenge

Congratulations on getting through exactly 50% (day 42) of our 12 week transformation challenge, and a lot has been achieved so far. We went headlong into it January 4th and we have left no stone unturned in getting the very best out of you.

The first week of January is filled with short, dark, cold and wet days, the prospect of spring is very far away, and that’s why motivation can often be at its lowest during those early days, but that was soon overcome throwing new training challenges at you, and the fruits of that are already coming to fruition thick and fast.

This is why it was important to write down your goals and aspirations, what you were prepared to do to feel better, to get more energy, to lose body fat, to gain much more strength and have the endurance to compelte any task.I see already the individuals who are out in front, and there are so many of you doing incredible things, inspiring others along the way by not only your words, but most importantly your actions.Day 42 may sound like a long time already and a great opportunity to bank some great progress, but the reality is that there is another 42 days for you to achieve greatness, so roll up your sleeves, step up to the plate and let’s get the very best out of yourself because that’s a huge amount of time still to do amazing things with your health.

The Choice by Edith Eger is a wonderful, staggering often harrowing tale of one of the youngest survivors of Auschwitz. She was pulled from a pile of bodies when the camp was liberated, eventually ended up in America, and became a clincial physchologist.A truly staggering moment she says when the camp was liberated, came when some wanted to go back inside, even though it was obviously felt like hell on earth.

She reasoned through her later studies that these people found “safety” inside, and were too scared to face a new reality on the outside, even if it was freedom they really craved. Not comparing the extremes here at all, but these situations can play out in daily life and have done is history. Some people like their life in prison somehow, for the “safety” and routine it gives them. Some like living with people they shouldn’t, however bad this may seem, because their situation seems somehow “safer”.

Some people i speak to feel unable to leave the perceived “safety” of staying at home for the last two years of covid, and that staying at home makes them feel better and “safe”, and when opportunities come to go outside, they often turn them down despite their mental health often deteorating without them even noticing. When the opportunity comes to meet people even outside, they turn them down due to feeling greater anxiety, and some have come to a point when they cannot face people anymore, as the “safety” they feel at home on their own outweighs any obvious social and mental health benefit of seeing people., and the longer they stay indoors, the more unable they seem to come out of the house.

Edith Eger, the inspirational survivor who has given inspirational talks to many audiences encourages us to make different choices. To leave the past behind, because if we don’t, it will still own us, will confine us and keep us in a prison of our own making. At the end of each speech, Edith does a karate kick in the air, saying “Remember no one can take away from you what you put here in your mind”, urging us to live, whatever your situation, with freedom and to celebrate the opportunities we now have, and at 93 now, she urges everyone to not live like a prisoner of their own minds.

Tuesday, 8th feb-it’s not just about you

It’s not always about you, your health often has a direct effect on those around you too.

You may find you are very fit now, but perhaps when you have had breaks from training, even one week, can lead to increased bad moods, very low energy, increased irritability and a host of things it’s not always pleasant to be around. When you are fit and healthy, people closest to you look to you as the strong one, the one they can count on no matter what, you are the calm in the storm, the level headed one, exercise and eating right helps you deal with stress so much better.

Others close to you also secretly admire you exercising, they wish they had the courage too, and perhaps they are waiting for you to nudge them liver a healthier lifestyle too?

You remember the first step is the hardest one and I find if you are all living a healthier lifestyle in the same household, things go a lot better when everyone is on the same page, less moods around, more positive energy and in general a more positive and productive household full stop.

Great health in the same household can only be a great gift, but never take it for granted, always work on it, nail down lifestyle habits that support it by eating well, training regularly, resting well, and get rid of any negative people who threaten it all.
