Substantial improvements over the last 3 weeks in everyone’s speed, I didn’t manage to get through everyone today of course but the trends are spectacular.

Most people as they age will get slower, most people think its inevitable, the way life is, and everything must “slow down”.

The facts are though that we go totally against that thinking at the gym.I test a lot of very fit and sporty individuals at elite level all the way to great individuals in their 80’s, and the goals must be to get better, and they ARE!All of the training we do, all of the variety, are all for a reason, to get you stronger AND faster and more confident to take on any challenge you want in life.

A tenth of a second quicker on our run up the hill is proven to be great over 2 weeks.

Many of you have already done a third of a second and some of you have even done a second. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but those of you who do appreciate how hard those small gains are to achieve!!!We are in this life to do our best, to be healthy and strong so we have no limitations to enjoy it, and when you can scientifically see you are improving and getting faster, you prove you can really turn back the clock.

Many people quit exercise as they never stick at it long enough to get any momentum, and the ones that DO stay with exercising and eating right, stick around long enough to get unstoppable momentum, that often takes less effort to keep up than the initial pain of starting in the first place.

Lots of gym machines are run by flywheels which powers the machine. 

The power of the person exercising turns the pedals first of all slowly which seems a huge effort, then over time the momentum builds and within a few minutes the exerciser gets so much momentum that the machine seems to run itself , and with less overall effort even though you are doing a lot.

That’s always the best strategy with your health. If you are always pushing the “wheel” in the right direction, those early painful times will soon pass as momentum starts to take over but you must give it time.

Eating lots of rubbish food every day, not moving much is not a great strategy obviously if you want good to great health.

If for example, you just start with drinking more water every day for a week, the way you feel and internally the way you body operates will instantly improve greatly.

Then the next week, start adding a decent breakfast and maybe some fruit throughout the day will be another win for you.

If you currently do not exercise, then going for a walk, 10 minutes one way, then back home soon adds up to 20 minutes, is a great start.

Do this for a couple of weeks and your “flywheel” is starting to the turn in the right direction and gather some momentum.

Joining a gym that actually wants to coach you every session that you attend at least 3 times a week will add strong wind at your back, and your flywheel starts to have a momentum that starts to become unstoppable, and over time doesn’t become that hard anymore as long as you keep showing up, doing your workouts, adding better food and drinking a bit more water.

All of this makes you sleep better which aids your recovery dramatically, making you perform better in every area of your life.

Keep turning that flywheel by doing simple things that not only keeps you healthy, but over time becomes second nature and just the way you live now. 

Always time for treats here and but if what you eat 80% of the time is good, and most days if you move more and with a purpose, then your lifestyle will be classed as healthy, you will receive endless benefits along the way simply by taking a little action every day that doesn’t seem a big effort anymore because you love feeling good..

Becoming much more willing to fail ought to be one of your biggest assets because ultimately it will make you achieve much more than you ever would have by “playing it safe” and settling for mediocrity.Those of you who hit our gym regularly or classes, know that new strategies usually come thick and fast. I can see by the reaction of many of you if you enjoyed it or not, if you really benefitted from it or not, did it hit the spot for our fittest trainers, what didn’t work out so well, what worked best and so on.We try to often fire many bullets before deciding to fire the big cannonball that usually gets tried again and again, because we know through thorough research in the trenches, it works.You can bet your life on it that many people are counting on you to fail too, I take it for granted that some people would want the gym to fail every day, but guess what, that ONLY makes me work harder, and always think out of the box on what’s coming for you.Use negativity as FUEL to take you to places you thought unachievable, start dreaming bigger things because with enough coaching, support and hard work, literally anything is possible.

Thursday April 14th

A massive wish for a peaceful and happy Easter to every one of our members from my family to yours. 

We have asked a lot out of you this year already, I believe in terms of physical performances and camaraderie, we are at our highest point in our history so a welcome rest would be a great time for you to recharge and reflect on how amazingly well you have all done.

The variety in training has been a lot to take in, but it has been necessary to raise performance levels out of all recognition and make you all better in all areas, bringing up weaknesses and taking you totally out of your comfort zone time after time.

This has been a time of honesty about where you are, really hard work, accepting the grind of tough uncompromising sessions whilst using the latest science of training to get you to a place you can all be proud of, and then doing it time and time again to scale heights you may have never thought possible.

I don’t believe in plateaus, there should be nobody saying “that’s the best I can do because I’ve reached a certain age or amount of years training”-NO CHANCE!!

We are all getting older, that’s a reality, but it’s also a fact that if we eat right, rest well, we can all push our limits so much further along than we ever thought and start turning back the clock, and I say this with complete conviction because we are all in the trenches TOGETHER every day, seeing amazing things happen from individuals who have risen above what they previously thought possible to become proper athletes and not be scared of any challenge we throw at you.

Heroes emerge from great adversity and every one of you who has shown courage, consistency, and laughed (and cried) along the way ought to take a bow because you deserve incredible applause for taking a chance on us at the gym and sending the way you feel and perform into the stratosphere!!!

Absolutely fantastic opening day of the week.

We are systemically getting all of you stronger, faster and more powerful-undeniable evidence and in a record quick period of time too, that’s a fact,When you can see you are doing more every week, you are getting quicker every week, you are doing UNIMAGINABLE things today compared to what you could do a month ago, you must realise that by now and I usually point it out to you too.

You will have seen the new challenges on offer today, they seemed and were really tough, and are top drawer when it comes to lifting your physical performance.

We are leaving no stone unturned in getting you better, all the latest science of training, even more demands but the rewards are starting to be unimaginably great and your courage, effort and determination will get you through and I am fully backing you to come up trumps every time.

Congratulations on opening day and get ready for more tomorrow!!!
