December 11th

Outstanding effort from everyone this morning and tonight. What a great start to Emma Williams‘ class too, great effort from all of you.

If you want one of the TRUE secrets of success, then its the showing up consistently and giving it everything less than TWO weeks before Christmas.

The GRIT you are showing right now makes you a champion, and a year round on at that. Getting in shape isn’t a month here, month there type of effort, it’s putting it all together and making it a TRUE PART of your everyday life.

It’s not about getting in shape AFTER Christmas and doing what everyone else thinks, and falling for all sorts of fads that promise wonders in 2 weeks, it’s about grinding it out the RIGHT way all year long.

You are all INDIVIDUALS who have your own opinions and characters and you are grabbing your big opportunities RIGHT NOW, and we are all proud of you for doing it.

The intensity is still great at the gym, it’s still fierce and there is still deep desire to do great things.

Get your MIND strong by keeping your body strong. Can’t do one without the other!!!!

Monday, December 2nd

My Sunday running with the family up the mountain DOES NOT stop because it’s dark and wet.

It’s our routines that make us what we are.

Giving up this time of year means you give up on your health. You say to yourself that wheezing is just fine with you, because stopping training and eating rubbish will surely invite more difficult breathing in this weather. That can’t be fun.

Giving up right now means you give up on other things in life, because you haven’t got the energy to get up early and go after your ambitions. Simple as that. Those plans “will just have to wait” AGAIN.

We have large numbers at the gym still hitting it hard right now, and we deeply praise them and sincerely appreciate their efforts.

You GET IT.

You get what the connection is between great health, personal achievement and happiness.

Many people who struggle with their health want to turn back the clock when they were 18, and how good they felt. They rue the day they started on blood pressure tablets for example because their didn’t look after themselves enough over a number of years.

Yet they are still not willing to change their lifestyle, so eating rubbish and drinking a few times a week is the “connection” they make with youth, even if it’s half killing them now.

Your habits MAKE YOU or BREAK YOU. We try to stay a very strong team, picking each other up along the way.

As you get older, great health matters far more than spending too much on cosmetic material things that don’t matter, especially this time of year.

Your daily habits will make you rich in health if you practice a few simple things daily, we all have the same choices, some take them, some ignore them but they all have a cost now and in the future.

Look after yourself.

“Status” is a funny thing to define.

Some people think they are better than they are.

Some value themselves way less than they are actually capable of.

Some value themselves by how much money they have or what car they drive.

The facts are that your “status” is determined by others.

How much you help people, how much positive impact you have in others’ lives, and how you treat people.

We have all shapes and sizes in the gyms, all levels of ability and medical conditions, all levels of self-esteem and confidence, and everyone has the same “status”.

EVERYONE gets the same opportunity. No favourites. No “who you know” situations with us.

We realised a long time ago that often individuals who come to us with some really serious problems can often emerge with some of the greatest recovery stories.

In times of darkness, sometimes the greatest characters are revealed and they turn into champions.

The status I admire the most is the person who has risen to the challenge of tough times, learned a lot about themselves along the way, treated people with respect, stuck at getting their health right by showing up three times a week to the gym, eating right when it was easier not to, and not let negative people talk them out of their great recovery no matter what.

Status is never about money, it’s about the journey in life you take, the people you affect on the way, and eventually the legacy you leave.
